Best Cheap Coffee Brand? Cafe Bustelo!
Let’s get one thing straight: Cafe Bustelo is not “gourmet” coffee. You won’t see it at your local trendy coffee bar. You won’t find it at Whole Foods. And you won’t hear uppity housewives talking about it on reality TV.
So, is Cafe Bustelo good? Yes. It’s a damn good coffee that packs enough caffeine to kill a small horse. In other words, Cafe Bustelo is the best cheap coffee brand around.
Why Cafe Bustelo Is The Best Cheap Coffee Brand
Cafe Bustelo is a dark roast coffee that tastes like it should cost about 5 times more than it does.

I looked up prices on Amazon today. Right now you can pick up a vacuum-packed “brick” of Cafe Bustelo for less than the price of one grande Starbucks coffee. And guess what? Cafe Bustelo tastes better.
Great tasting coffee AND a cheap price? That’s a win-win.
How To Brew Cafe Bustelo
Cafe Bustelo is “espresso ground coffee.” But you do not have to brew it like espresso. In fact, you may not want to because Cafe Bustelo is so strong.
I brew mine in an Aeropress and it tastes smooth as silk. I’ve also brewed it in a French Press and my significant other’s Mr. Coffee machine. Each cup has been excellent.
Keep Your Cafe Bustelo Fresh
Air, heat, and light are the enemies of fresh coffee. But it’s as easy as pie to keep your Cafe Bustelo fresh.
Simply put your Cafe Bustelo in an air-tight container and store it in your pantry. I’ve used this Kilner Glass Jar for about a year now and I absolutely love it. The Kilner is a no-brainer for keeping your Cafe Bustelo, or any coffee for that matter, as fresh as can be.
Where To Buy Cafe Bustelo
I used to buy Cafe Bustelo at a little bodega by my place before it closed. Now I buy mine on Amazon. Easy peasy.
